News - New Year New Business

It has been an incredibly exciting few months at Alexis Prior Nutrition and I wanted to take a moment to update you on what’s been happening, and most importantly, what’s going to happen very soon, in the New Year.

At the end of last year and beginning of this year, I took some time to consider how I want to take my business forward, and how I can best serve my clients, who are women aged 40-65. And since April, I have been working with a fantastic branding expert (details below) to help me bring this new approach to life. I may share more about this soon, as it has been pretty life-changing for me personally, and has helped me fall more in love with the work that I do. It has certainly been part of my post-menopause journey and what I feel is my “second spring”.

So how did this all come about?

Over the last few years, the conversation around female health and especially perimenopause and menopause has been mostly dominated by HRT as the main approach.  We have seen celebrities coming out with their personal menopause and HRT stories, and the media is jam-packed with menopause advice and products.  You could say there has been a bit of a “Meno-revolution”. And I have totally embraced this – it’s so brilliant that we can now openly discuss what half of the population experiences.

However, what I still think has been missing in this conversation is that we all have a menopause journey, which is completely unique to us. We all have unique biology and genes. And we all have a lifestyle, diet and set of challenges that are unique to us too. We all have different levels of ability to make changes, as well as different levels of willingness and motivation. Also, not all of us want to take HRT, or are able to take it, and it certainly isn’t a magic bullet. There is no magic bullet! And what happens when you’re out the other side, into postmenopause and still not feeling great?

I don’t think we’re holistically served by mainstream medicine in that the whole person isn’t taken into consideration. We are much, much more than our ovaries and hormones! This stage in our life from 40 and beyond can be a full mind, body and spirit transition. In addition, many of us come into this stage in our life with co-existing health issues, such as thyroid issues, IBS, post-viral issues, autoimmune conditions and so on. Or we may be upset and anxious by unexpected and stubborn weight gain. And if we don’t address and optimise our underlying health at this time, the chances are that our transition is going to feel more challenging.

What’s the answer?

I believe we need a better option for our health at this time, a 360-Degree, personalised overview and review of our health, and I know my clients do too. So, with all this in mind, I am very excited to be launching a new business and approach in the New Year.

  • A service that’s customised and compassionate, where each client has the time and space to share their concerns and feel understood and listened to.

  • Support that is complementary to mainstream treatment, and suitable whether you take HRT or not and whether you have a diagnosed health condition, or not.

  • A way for women to identify and address the root causes of underlying health issues that could be causing symptoms and sub-optimal health, and to understand their bodies.

  • The option to test and not guess when it comes to health. I will be offering packages that include blood testing, urinary hormones (the DUTCH Test), digestive health testing and genetic health testing. We want personalised advice and what can be more personalised than finding out what’s happening in our own body?

  • I also have a number of Expert Partners that I can refer my clients to in areas that I don’t support personally, such as nervous system support, counselling and physical health.

Here are our key areas of Clinical Focus

  • Unexplained and stubborn weight gain

  • Hormonal symptoms

  • Low energy

  • Digestive discomfort

  • Menopause Transition – Peri to post-menopause

  • Personalised Nutrition & Lifestyle Recommendations

  • Functional Testing

So, in January 2025, I will be officially relaunching as The Prior Clinic. My new website is currently being lovingly created and I will be seeing clients virtually, and in-person at the Apthorp Centre, in Bath.

I will also be offering a whole new range of services and packages, giving a wider range of options. So, if you’d like to stay in the loop with these and receive special launch offers, then please sign up to my newsletter here.

And in the meantime, I’m very much still seeing clients, so if you want to get ahead for the New Year and tackle your health concerns, please do email here to get the ball rolling or arrange a call.

With best wishes

Alexis
