Digestive Issues
Digestive Issues
Good health really does start in the gut and if you’re struggling with uncomfortable symptoms, you will know how much this can affect your quality and enjoyment of life.
We see many women struggling with digestive issues at The Prior Clinic. Symptoms can include indigestion or acid reflux, digestive bloating, wind, constipation and/or diarrhoea, IBS symptoms, and autoimmune conditions. Many report that they have become worse as they’ve been going through the menopause transition. And some clients are unsure whether they are related to food sensitivities or intolerances.
When there are so many factors that can influence gut health including food, exercise, stress, microbial imbalances, hormone shifts, medications, to name a few, it can often feel like a minefield to work out where to start and how to keep it all going.
We aim to make this process literally easier to digest, by providing effective recommendations and ongoing support as well as stool testing where appropriate and the use of targeted nutritional supplements where needed. We often find that support over 2-3 months is needed, as it can take time to really optimise gut health.
How We Can Help You
At The Prior Clinic we carry out a 360-degree review of your health history, diet and lifestyle, and any lurking imbalances that might be making your digestive issues worse.
This helps us to pinpoint the root cause of your symptoms, so that we can create a fully personalised plan that addresses this, rather than just treating symptoms and hoping for the best.
Your plan will include nutrition and lifestyle changes, and nutritional supplements where appropriate. If we feel that testing could help us pinpoint underlying imbalances and root causes, we’ll recommend those too and this may be food sensitivity testing, a comprehensive digestive stool analysis, or other digestive health tests.
