Our thyroid gland is an often underappreciated and misunderstood yet crucial part of our body. It is essential for driving our energy and metabolism, and when it’s not working optimally, can lead to fatigue, weight gain, feeling cold, hair loss amongst many other symptoms.

We often see women with diagnosed and undiagnosed thyroid function issues in clinic and symptoms can be confused with typical perimenopausal symptoms, so it can often be missed, or at least not fully addressed.

We also see a prevalence of women being diagnosed at this time of life as the hormone shifts of menopause occur, and in particular cases of Hashimoto’s which is an autoimmune condition that attacks the thyroid gland.
