The DUTCH Test

The DUTCH Complete Test is a powerful tool to help you understand and optimise your hormones, even during the fluctuations of perimenopause, and whether you are taking HRT or not.

It can help assess and pinpoint where hormone-related symptoms such as fatigue, weight gain, hair loss, headaches and mood swings could be stemming from, so that you can take appropriate action and optimise your health and hormone balance with personalised diet, lifestyle and nutritional supplements where appropriate.

It can also be used by Functional Hormone Doctors who work with this test to prescribe and monitor your HRT.

What Does The DUTCH Test Measure?

Oestrogens (oestrodiol, oestrone, oestriol), progesterone, DHEA, testosterone and other androgens, cortisol, metabolised cortisol and cortisone.

It also measures metabolites of hormones (chemicals creating during the internal processing of hormones). These can provide insight into why you’re experiencing hormone-related symptoms and show how your body handles oestrogen, making it a useful tool for managing symptoms and even HRT if appropriate.

This test also measures a number of organic acids, which can provide important information on certain nutritional requirements, inflammation, gut microbiome imbalances, and melatonin production (our sleep hormone).

What is The DUTCH Test?

DUTCH stands for Dried Urine Test For Comprehensive Hormones. A small amount of urine is collected on filter paper over the course of a day and analysed by the laboratory. Then a comprehensive report is provided for each client and analysed by us, in conjunction with a consultation and considered alongside your health history, symptoms, diet and lifestyle choices. This helps us to personalise a plan for you to optimise your hormone balance.
