Functional Laboratory Testing
Functional Laboratory Testing
Functional testing is a powerful tool for identifying and understanding the root causes of your health issues. At The Prior Clinic, we like to test and not guess wherever possible. Based on the results, we can personalise your recommendations more precisely, and remove some of the guesswork when it comes to making changes to your diet, lifestyle, and nutritional supplements. And ultimately this can save time and money too, over time.
We recommend tests that we feel will be beneficial as part of your consultation. There is no obligation to undertake them, and they aren’t always needed, but we will give you the option where we feel it will help.
We also offer specific Testing Packages (link to All Services & Prices) for clients who know which test they want to run and simply want to test and receive a consultation to discuss their results.
What Do We Mean By Functional Testing?
The tests we recommend look at how your body is functioning, so that we can make recommendations to support your optimum health and wellbeing.
Functional tests are not used to diagnose health conditions, although they may highlight where we need to refer you to a medical professional for further investigation or treatment.
We use tests to see where your body may not be functioning optimally. They can help us pinpoint underlying imbalances that could be causing your symptoms. Depending on the test we use, this could be issues in keeping your hormones in optimal balance, vitamin and mineral and requirements, imbalances in your gut bacteria, signs that your liver would benefit from support, food sensitivities, signs that your thyroid isn’t working optimally, or challenges with your blood glucose handling.
Here are some of the tests we routinely offer, but we have many more in our toolbox depending on your needs.
